British Veterans Fencing Nationals

Graham Paul went 4V6D in the round of poules and made it to the tableau. In the L32, he fenced against Jonathan Dawkins and won 10-9. In the following round, he lost to Mo Mansoori. 

Hugh Kernohan went 8V4D in the round of poules and made it to the tableau. In the L64, he fenced against Guy Haley and won 10-2. In the following round, he won 10-8 against Simon Pink. In the L16, he lost to Alistair Bullward. 

Simon Pink went 6V4D in the round of poules and made it to the DE rounds. In the L64, he went against Andrew Brown and won 10-4. In the following round, he lost to Hugh Kernohan. 

Philip Jordan went 4V6D in the round of poules and also made it to the tableau. In the L64, he went against Richard Roseblade and won 10-9. In the following round, he lost to Alistair Bullward.

Theo Ayanwale went 5V6D in the round of poules and made it to the tableau. In the L64, he fenced against William Osbaldeston and won 10-9. In the following round, he lost to Alexander Ellison. 

Jeremy Baker went 2V9D in the round of poules and made it to the tableau. In the first round, he lost to John-Patrick Racle. 

Simon Brock went 2V10D in the round of poules and made it to the tableau. In the L64, he lost to Tim Buzwell. 

Georgina Usher won gold! She won all her matches in the round of poules and had a bye through the L32. In the L16, she fenced against Jenny Morris and won 10-3. In the L8, she won 10-5 against Susann Altkemper and made ti to the semi-finals where she fenced against Jayne Ward and won 10-1. In the finals, she fenced against Donna Sibley and won 10-5, securing the first position.

Leon Paul D/E/U Spring Open

Nima Abbaszadeh won silver! He went 2V3D in the round of poules and made it to the tableau. In the L32, he fenced against Mark Manson and won 15-10. In the L16, he fenced against Reggie Chamberlain-Wilde  and won 15-11. In the following round he won 15-6 against Brian Trim and made it to the semi-finals where he won 15-8 against Caleb Matthews. In the final round, he lost to Dylan Helme securing the second position.

The Epee Club 2025

Florin Mirica won bronze! He went 17V5D in the round of poules. In the L8, he went against Antoine Belot and won 15-8 and made it to the semi-finals where he lost to Greg Allen, securing the third position. 
Matt Henderson went 16V6D in the round of poules and made it to the tableau. In the L8, he lost to Maxton Milner.
John Prime went 11V11D in the round of poules and did not make it to the DE rounds. 
Theo Ayanwale went 11V11D in the round of poules and also did not make it to the tableau. 
Philip Jordan went 9V13D in the round of poules and also did not make it to the tableau. 

Georgina Usher won bronze! She went 10V3D in the round of poules and made it to the tableau. In the L8, she fenced against Kseniya Kushtan and won 15-13, and made it to the semi-finals where she lost to Sophie Peat, securing the third position.

U-14 European Circuit Competition

Leon Paul Academy sabreur Bijan Muganwa competed at the U14 European Circuit competition in Grodzisk, Poland, last weekend. 

In a field of over 40 fences, Bijan dropped just one fight in the pools, taking 5th seeding and a bye to the L32. Here he won comfortably, following up with a 15-9 victory in the L16, and 15-10 in the L8 against the 4th seed. In the semi-final, Bijan just lost out 15-14 in a roller-coaster match against Andronov (BUL).

Bijan took the bronze medal and will be representing team GBR at the European fencing festival in Turkey in June with confidence from this resultπŸ₯‰

The Youth Series Grand Finals

William Maiden won 5 matches out of 8 in the mixed round of poule. In the tableau he lost to Chun Ki Wong in the L8 round, and secured the third position.
